Concept Space and Category Map We have used Noun Phraser (NPer) Indexing techniques to extract concepts (term phrases) from 594 documents in the DARPA ITO Project Summary Collection and created a Concept Space and a Category Map. The primary support for this project is from the following grants: (1) DARPA-funded ``Interspace Analysis Environment on Scalable Semantics'' project (PI: B. Schatz, H. Chen et. al, 1997-2000) and (2) NSF/ARPA/NASA funded ``Building the Interspace: Digital Library Infrastructure for a University Engineering Community'' project (PI: B. Schatz, H. Chen, et. al, 1994-1998). Concept Space The Concept Space contains 6,723 concepts. You can perform a direct document search or a concept search (a search for co-occurring terms) via the html or Java interface. Html Interface Category Map The Category Map contains 39 categories. You can perform concept browsing via HTML or VRML interface. 2-D Category Map & Alphabetical Category List 3-D VRML Flythrough Note: You need to have a Netscape 4.01 or equivalent browser in order to see this VRML2 presentation. A Pentium MMX 166 (or above) or an SGI workstation is preferrable.
