EntertainmentSpace

EntertainmentSpace is a set of concept-based search tool developed by the AI Group in the MIS Department at the University of Arizona. Funded mainly by an NSF/CISE "Intelligent Internet Categorization and Search" project (1995-1998) and the NSF/ARPA/NASA Illinois Digital Library Initiative project (1994-1998), the AI Group is responsible for the semantic retrieval and user customization research components of the Illinois Digital Library Project.

EntertainmentSpace contains a clickable self-organizing map (SOM) and a searchable entertainment concept space (thesaurus) both generated automatically using our DEC Alpha workstation. Users can use this server to identify specific area in Entertainment and/or other relevant search terms when searching Entertainment servers or homepages.

GO EntertainmentSOM
This server is appropriate for ``concept browsing.'' You can choose a concept region from the two dimensional SOM. The server will either display another level of SOM or a list of classified URLs.

GO Entertainment URLs
You can only enter one query term at a time. The server will provide a list of relevant URLs based on your query term.

GO EntertainmentSpace-C
This server is appropriate for ``concept convergence.'' You can enter up to four query terms at a time. The server will suggest terms which are relevant to all query terms in ranked order. If you find a more appropriate concept, you can choose our Entertainment URLs server for locating relevant links.

GO EntertainmentSpace-D
This server is appropriate for ``concept divergence.'' You can only enter one query term at a time. The server will suggest a list of syntactically and semantically relevant terms. You can choose an relevant term from the list and the term will lead you to another list of syntactically and semantically relevant terms. If you find a more appropriate concept, you can choose our Entertainment URLs server for locating relevant links.
