| Introduction |
|
| The Arizona
Noun Phraser was developed by Ph.D.
student Kristin M. Tolle at the University
of Arizona, Artificial Intelligence
Lab. The AZ Noun Phraser is made up
of three major components, a tokenizer,
a part-of-speech tagger, and a phrase
generation tool. Written in ANSI C and
designed to be platform independent,
the AZ Noun Phraser has been successfully
used in Unix, Irix, HP-UX, Solaris,
and NT environments. This optimized
and scalable natural language processing
tool has also been used to process a
variety of collections ranging from
a few hundred documents to tens of millions
of documents. |
